Overview
When you're a division or subsidiary of a large company, it's sometimes difficult to create your own brand or presence that allows you to stand out and be memorable. This was the case for International Media Distribution (IMD), a programmer that markets and distributes international television channels to cable and satellite operators in the US and Canada. It also distributes multi-ethnic television programming to consumers via VOD. IMD was a unit of Comcast (now NBC/Universal) – not exactly in the spotlight among the company's many digital properties.
As is the case with many of our clients, IMD faced the immediate challenge of creating a website that quickly and concisely communicated its exciting and diverse services. And it wanted to do it in a manner that properly incorporated and reflected the various cultures and languages it represents among its programmers. Finally, it wanted a content management system that would allow it to make basic changes and updates to the site – it had grown tired of hoping its webmaster was available and willing to make changes.
IMD had the benefit of a plethora of lively, eye-catching video and graphics from its partner stations. Zenwerks used these images as the centerpiece of its design – and the result is eye-popping, to say the least. Another key feature: a first-ever “network search tool” on the home page that allows visitors to easily search for and find programming based on network name, language or location.
